Utilizing Data to Drive Change Management & A Better Future of Work

#artificialintelligence

It's no secret that an influx of changes to the way people work and think about the workplace have occurred over the last 18 months since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether employees are returning to the office full time, implementing a hybrid schedule, or staying remote, business leaders must determine the best ways to support their workforce both now and in the post-pandemic landscape. They key to making the right calls when it comes to these critical workplace decisions? Although all of this data typically lives in different siloed systems, recent advancements in AI and workplace analytics allow companies to integrate and harness their data in more impactful ways than ever before. While companies often survey their employees to better understand workforce sentiments, subjective data like survey responses becomes even more valuable when measured against objective insights, such as collaboration, meeting, and performance data.

How AI Is Impacting Operations At LinkedIn

#artificialintelligence

LinkedIn has been at the cutting edge of AI for years and uses AI in many ways users may not be aware of. I recently had the opportunity to talk to Igor Perisic, Chief Data Officer (CDO) and VP of Engineering at LinkedIn to learn more about the evolution of AI at LinkedIn, how it's being applied to daily activities, how worldwide data regulations impact the company, and some unique insight into the changing AI-related work landscape and job roles. Very early on at LinkedIn, data was identified as one of the company's core differentiating factors. Another differentiating factor was a core company value of "members first" (clarity, consistency, and control of how member data is used) and their vision to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. As LinkedIn began finding more and more ways to weave AI into their products and services, they also recognized the importance of ensuring all employees were well-equipped to work with AI as needed in their jobs.

The future of work: How AI and robots might impact our work life 20 years from now

#artificialintelligence

This year has seen, what appears to be, an unusually high level of soothsaying predictions on technological'Revolutions', and how they will affect us all. How the latest technology buzz-word, 'Artificial Intelligence', will replace 50% of our jobs. How the changing work landscape is driven by'Millenials', who not only care for a salary but want access to many other perks believed to be unique to them. The above may or may not be true, but it overlooks some significant demographic changes, both globally and in our backyards. Is AI ready to take over the functions of the human world, implement nuclear armageddon and attempt to wipe out humanity?

Framework: The role of Humans in the Future of Work - Ross Dawson

#artificialintelligence

Yesterday I gave the keynote on Creating the Future of Work at The End of Nine to Five. For the last years in addressing the future of work I have often focused on the human capabilities that will drive value as machines become more capable and the work landscape is transformed. To help define and clarify these capabilities I created a landscape on the role of Humans in the Future of Work, which I first shared publicly in my keynote yesterday. Click on the image to see full size You can see full details of the framework on my keynote speaker website. This framework overlaps and builds on my Future of Work Framework, specifically building out the distinctive human capabilities that will be relevant and valued as the work landscape is transformed.
